How to sprout quinoa seeds
The quinoa seeds need to be rinsed thoroughly (between 3 - 4 times) to remove the saponin coating. This natural coating on the grain protects it from pests, and also inhibits sprouting growth. Without adequate rinsing, quinoa seeds may have a bitter taste.
Place your seeds in a bowl of water and scrub them with your hands for at least 30 seconds. Rinse well and repeat this process until the water runs clear.
